What is OpenVPN?
OpenVPN is a virtual private network (VPN) system that implements techniques to create secure point-to-point or site-to-site connections in routed or bridged configurations and remote access facilities. It implements both client and server applications.
OpenVPN allows a single point of participation in the establishment of a VPN to use a shared key, electronic certificate, or username/password for identity verification. It makes extensive use of the SSLv3/TLSv1 protocol library in the OpenSSL encryption library. OpenVPN can run on Solaris, Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD, NetBSD, Mac OS X and Windows, and includes many security features. It is not a web-based VPN software, nor is it compatible with IPsec and other VPN software packages.

OpenVPN configuration guide based on Linux Server and Qixiang 4G router
Prepare the entire openvpn Server test environment.

Configuration steps as following:
1.Openvpn server-side related configuration files as following.
The router gateway client and the computer client configuration file as following.
2.Qixiang 4G router client configuration example as following.
1) The first step is to make sure the router can access internet via cellular/4G network or wired wan network.
2）Set corresponding client ip gateway address in “Wired Network – LAN” based on OPENVPN server configuration.
3）Configure openvpn client（4G Router）parameters.
a.Click “OpenVPN” – “Edit” button to go to the detailed configuration page.
b.Perform following configuration （OPENVPN Server IP , port, protocol and other prameters）according to following marked steps.
It is important to add the CA、cert and KEY certificates file to the 4G router one by one.
c.Finish above operation then click “SAVE & APPLY”，you will see the current openvpn connection network status.
3.The Computer client configuration usage exampleis as following.
Install the openvpn GUI client software correctly and import the corresponding configuration file (c7 for example ).
4.Ping test through the computer and router side gateway（connected test equipment by IP 192.168.5.203）.
